I simply can't get a grip it seems
At times in saying I know true
Just how Filipino's think often
Of new comers older those new

They'll chat to you and smile a lot
Ask you all about your entire life
And after they know all to know
Anything of them your in strife

I've donated more than they know
Taken care of many and family too
I'm way more educated than some
A soul of integrity values through

Within common sense is still alive
Never committed a crime to date
I've an open mind honest genuine
Greed negativity never on my slate

As if scared of life and others too
And they seem so untrusting unsure
They say oh we'll call in for a coffee
You'll not see them mostly any more

So much above their comprehension
As if taught not to trust a living soul
Religions and changing politics rule
So confusing to one my age and old

It all becomes a little lonely at times
Yet to make as I'd call a friend true
They make so many assumptions
In an instant right out of the blue

They feel because your a jolly soul
Your trying thus I guess to impress
Even though your just being friendly
To those you find at times nice I guess

And just when you think you know
You find out you were wrong again
As if they've a fear being themselves
life being both seems sunshine and rain
