She sat out in the moonlight
In an old chair on the porch
All on her own within her home
A billion stars acted as a torch

Spent my life in a religious life
Doing all a man written bible said
Lost count years ago nights alone
A cross hanging over my very bed

All my supposed friends married
Homes kids peace of mind intact
Religion it stole my happiness
My womanhood and that's a fact

Here I'm at this age all alone
School friends lived life well
They knew more then I ever will
A wasted life I know well I tell

If I could go back to my girlhood
I was created whole by God true
And not been miss goody two shoes
I'd not be alone and still as new

Religion a crime all on it's own
And still they don't pay any tax
Male dominated hypocrites wealthy
Nothing to do with real life facts

Nobody to blame but myself all true
And here I sit alone in my life
If there is a hell they'll be there
Preventing so many from their strife

Looking back down life's long track
At the days end we catch that train
I only follow Jesus but none of them
He chose wisdom no religion not same
