Why do You stand far away Lord?
Why do You hide yourself from me?
Times of trouble You have ignored,
When You have been able to see,

The wicked in his pride oppressed,
Let them be taken in their schemes;
That they devised and are obsessed,
Such evil ways within their dreams.

The wicked boasts in desires,
Imagined in his heart and soul;
The one with greed lights the fires,
Gains curses and covets control.

Pride of his face the wicked not seek,
All thoughts are of having no God;
Painting a picture that are bleak,
Only of himself he will laud.

His ways to prosper at all times,
Grievous judgments out of his sight;
But comes a day God tries his crimes,
Darkness will be dousing his light.
