Without haste and rest,
I have a lively caprice
Life is sweeping by,
We have a car apiece.

To strike the blow,
My work is inspired.
The deeds, the deeds.
For they are both to be admired.

I join the issue of life's field
And scrub the face of the land,
The sunset's light closes the day
And combs the trees like a hand.

I note the potter's wheel
As I touch upon my nose,
(Time is spinning fast)
That sweet wild rose.
