There is vanity that takes place,
Happen to fit in to their deeds;
Even righteous people will embrace,
The wicked people to their needs.

I said that this is vanity,
And I am commending the mirth;
Considered to be charity,
Hospitality here on earth.

Nothing better under the sun,
Be joyful as you eat and drink;
After all of your work is done,
Relaxing a bit as you think.

When I apply my heart to know,
The wisdom accomplished that day;
Neither day nor night that can show,
What your eyes has seen as you pray.

Not day nor night your eyes see sleep,
But you dream of the work of God;
The thankfulness all that you reap,
Your prayer that you honor and laud.

Through man what you labor to seek,
He will never be finding out;
Wise men claim but only the meek,
As the righteous man will not doubt.
