The creation will be set free,
From the bondage to corruption;
Into glorious liberty,
As His child through adoption.

Glory as a child of God,
We know that the whole creation;
Groaning together as we laud,
Birth pains through parturition.

As the firstfruits of the Spirit,
Groaning inwardly as we wait;
Adoption as sons through merit,
Body redeemed of our fate.

For in this hope, we have been saved,
Now hope that is seen is not hope;
Because temptation has enslaved,
For what He sees we have to cope.

If we hope for what is unseen,
We wait for it with the patience;
In knowing of things that have been,
The Holy Spirit tells the conscience.
