I know that You can do all things,
No purpose of Yours be thwarted;
The satisfaction that it brings,
Makes your creation comforted.

Who is this that’s hiding counsel,
Spoke what I did not understand;
Having knowledge like the devil,
For the future that has been planned.

Things that are wonderful for me,
That I question and did not know;
Hear me when I speak as to see,
You make it known which way to go.

I heard of You by my hearing,
But I want my eyes seeing you;
Let me see what I am fearing,
To know that the Scriptures are true.

Therefore, I myself I despise,
Repenting in the ash and dust;
Knowing that God’s wisdom is wise,
Because He is faithful and just.
