Pleasing Sacrifices

We have an altar those who serve,
The temple with no right to eat;
Bodies of the beasts to preserve,
Sacrificed for sins made complete.

The beasts whose blood is being brought,
Into the temple by the priest,
Sacrificed outside that is sought,
Burned to sanctified has increased.

Jesus had suffered outside the gate,
In order to bless the people;
Through His blood that would compensate,
For their sin as per the Gospel.

So let us go outside the camp,
Bear the reproach that He endured;
Where He lit the righteous lamp,
That sinful conditions are cured.

For we have no lasting city,
But seek the city to arrive;
When we no longer take pity,
But thank God that we are alive.

Make a sacrifice to praise God,
Fruit of the lips to thank His name;
Do not neglect in giving laud,
Sharing with others to proclaim.

Submit to leaders and obey,
They are watching over your soul;
Always honor them as you pray,
For God has put them in control.

Pray that you have a clear conscience,
Desire to honor all things;
Always humble and have patience,
Regardless of what this world brings.
