Your Word is a lamp to my feet,
As well as a light to my path;
Enables me to stay upbeat,
While I’m avoiding Your wrath.

I have been sworn unto an oath,
Confirmed to keep Your righteous rules;
Because of my spiritual growth,
Enabled to avoid the fools.

I am severely afflicted,
Give me energy for my life;
No longer to be addicted,
Which has caused me toils and strife.

Accept my offerings of praise,
And teach me Your judgments O Lord;
Let me know Your methods and ways,
That I can be in one accord.

I hold my life within my hand,
But I do not forget Your Law;
Being shielded to where I stand,
For avoiding another flaw.

The wicked laid another snare,
But I stray not from Your maxim;
Their temptations trying to dare,
In holding me for a ransom.

Your testimonies are always,
A joy in my heart forever;
As my inheritance that stays,
Nobody would ever sever.

I inclined my heart to perform,
Your statutes always to the end;
Divided not by any storm,
For you are my God and my friend.
