You have followed my aim in life,
Of my teaching that does convey;
My faith and patience midst of strife,
Steadfastness of love to obey.

The persecutions and afflictions,
That has happened that I endured;
The Lord saved me from addictions,
With His salvation has assured.

All who will live godly in Christ,
Shall suffer from persecution;
No longer be earthly enticed,
Gets salvation for restitution.

Evil people and hypocrites,
Will be going from bad to worse;
Deceptive conduct that outwits,
Will try to put on you a curse.

Continue in what you have learned,
Knowingly believed since childhood;
Because the salvation you earned,
That since your faith has understood.

From childhood you’re acquainted,
Sacred writings that have made you wise;
My past crimes have been acquitted,
with insight to open up your eyes.

Salvation through faith in the Lord,
From Scripture that’s breathed out by God;
Profitable can’t be ignored,
For teaching to honor and laud.

The man of God may be complete,
Enabled in making you wise;
That the darkness you can defeat,
In seeing through Satan’s disguise.
