Coins of Sunlight

The air which we inherit shall dissolve
I cannot forget my small paltry life
Theres a shine where the coins of
sunlight glint and shift
I will neither be a poet or president
You cant tell me what a gift will do
Help me live day to day
I may dine on a broken plate
Im where a lazy soul can loaf all day
Help in the work that I do
I have thought a lot about my ancestory
Across the ceiling and down the wall
It may bring back what my gestures say
that gathered from near to far
I slaved for this like sin
I am sick of asking what I am
and what I ought to be
With joy the stars perform
their shining
Tangled heart of red and green
The way the things I gain on earth
In the rusting night air came the
answer
I list my deeds made plain for me
The things I peacefully hold
I can see your sceptical smile
If I take a look at the silent door
I go ways I know not of
Just a thinkin'
Bowls of mushrooms fat and brown
I don't travel the great highway twice
When I bent down the branch it
started to rain
Like it or not
