I will rejoice, knowing through prayer,
The help of the Spirit of Christ;
For the deliverance that You share,
Because of what was sacrificed.

It’s my eager expectation,
In hopes I shall not be ashamed;
No trials or tribulation,
Result from what has been proclaimed.

But that boldness is magnified,
Be honored by life or by death;
Reverence being glorified,
Until I have breathed my last breath.

For to me to live is in Christ,
While when I die is my gain;
No longer shall I be enticed,
By all this pleasurable pain.

If in the flesh I am to live,
Meaning fruitful labor for me;
I will choose to remain active,
An useful body that will be.

I am hard pressed between the two,
My desire to be with Christ;
Or of this life that I pursue,
The pleasures that I sacrificed.

Which is better only God knows,
Being in the flesh is needed;
For this is the life that I chose,
Telling others to be heeded.

I know that I shall continue,
The joy of faith as to progress;
So that in me You may pursue,
In the Gospel that I address.

I have ample glory in Christ,
Because I have the confidence;
For it shall never be sufficed,
With a committed diligence.
