I write these things so you may know,
How anyone ought should behave;
The church of the living God does show,
Pillar and buttress of truth gave.
Great indeed we have to confess,
In the flesh Christ did manifest;
The mystery of godliness,
Justified by the Spirit to quest.
Seen by the angels to proclaim,
For all of the world to believe;
That death, the Lord did overcame,
Up into glory to receive.
