Since we have developed such hope,
We boldly use plainness of speech;
Because we are able to cope,
The mockery from my out-reach.

Not like Moses who wore a veil,
That the others could not steadfast;
Seeing his face in such detail,
By looking at God’s face to cast.

Their minds were hardened to this day,
When they read the old covenant;
Only through Christ can take away,
The veil for a new commandment.

So, whenever Moses has read,
A veil has laid over their heart;
It was making their days ahead,
That their faith and hope to depart.

But when someone turns to the Lord,
The veil shall be taken away;
Then they will be in one accord,
No longer be going astray.

Because the Lord is the Spirit,
Where the Spirit of the Lord is;
There is freedom in your merit,
And you are now in being His.

Behold the glory of the Lord,
Having revealed the unveiled face;
One degree of glory afford,
As the Lord’s Spirit does embrace.
