Keep His commandments and do them,
That will be your understanding;
Showing insight not to condemn,
Your wisdom what it’s demanding.

This nation is wise they will say,
Which they will hear all these statutes;
Fit to comply as they obey,
Each precept that God executes.

What great nation that has a god,
So near unto them as the Lord;
Stone and wooden idols they laud,
That their requests merely ignored.

What place has rules for the righteous,
This Law that I set before you;
Only take heed to serve justice,
Keeps your soul diligently true.

You forget what your eyes have seen,
From your mind that they will depart;
All the days of your life has been,
Faded memory from your heart,

Make known to teach sons and daughters,
The day you stood before the Lord;
And led you to the still waters,
Quenching your thirst in one accord.

Call on the people together,
So that they are able to hear;
Learning the Word where they gather,
So that they will learn how to fear.
