For insigbts won through tools
and tears
I pause beside this door
Is there no joy in the busy street
The bulbs are protected from the
frost against the winters return
Standing in the wings of mystery
where with trust and hope all
lesser notes dispel
What is the rhythm of man made
things
Shelves for books to pass a
pleasant hour
I forget the past and future to live
in the present
Nature cannot make me save some
worn out plan
But what of the glory of steel and
stone
