I don’t want to be unaware,
Our fathers under the cloud;
All passed through the sea for to share,
In the salvation that’s endowed.

All were baptized into Moses,
In the cloud and under the sea;
Heavenly treasure they possess,
The Lord had given them for free.

All ate the same spiritual food,
And drank the same spiritual drink;
Drank from the rock that was valued,
The Rock was Christ the rod did link.

But God was not well pleased with them,
And cast into the wilderness;
That generation He condemn,
For forty years of bitterness.
