I call upon You, O my Lord,
Give ear to my voice as I call;
I heard the devil as He roared,
Attempting me to make a fall.

Let my prayer be set before You,
Raise my hands as a sacrifice;
Set my guard on how to pursue,
In avoiding what does entice.

Keep watch on the door of my lips,
Let not my heart upon evil;
Let not the temptation that grips,
Attempts to pull towards the devil.

Avoid men of iniquities,
Let a righteous man to strike me;
Not to eat their delicacies,
Only the healthy food I see.

It’s kindness for Him to lecture,
Anointing oil upon my head;
From the darkness for departure,
For the righteous food to be fed.

When their judges are overthrown,
Then they shall hear words that are sweet;
As a plow breaks for seeds be sown,
Our bones scattered at his feet.

My eyes are upon You my Lord,
I seek the refuge for my soul;
Help me to be in one accord,
My defense under Your control.

Keep my from the trap laid for me,
And the wicked fall in their snare;
So, I can safely pass to see,
Eternally with You to share.
