Who would be there to harm you,
If zealous for what is good;
Though suffering would pursue,
For righteousness sake that could.

Have no fear nor be troubled,
Because you shall still be blest;
If agony is doubled,
His comfort will give you rest.

Honor the Lord in your heart,
Sanctify Christ as Holy;
Remember Him to impart,
Thinking of His Word solely.

Be prepared for a defense,
Someone who asks a reason;
Show respect with gentleness,
Of miracles He has done.

Always have a good conscience,
When they are speaking evil;
Tolerate and have patience,
Since they talk like a devil.

Let not Christ be put to shame,
Endure while doing good;
It’s better that you proclaim,
Against evil as you should.

For Christ suffered once for sin,
Righteous for the unrighteous;
That He would let God begin,
Death to flesh for His justice.
