His angels Christ will command,
To guard you in all your ways;
They will bear you up by hand,
Lest you strike your foot whence strays.

He’ll tread on the lion and snake,
That He tramples under feet;
Pounding hard makes the ground shake,
For their evil to defeat.

Since I hold God fast in love,
He’ll deliver and protect;
For He knows my name thereof,
Knowing He will not neglect.

When I calls, He will answer,
He’ll be with me in trouble;
He knows I’m not a chancer,
And save me when I stumble.

He rescues as to honor,
In making Him satisfied;
Salvation for a fawner,
Certain to be glorified.
