O Lord, I lift up my soul,
In You, God, I put my trust;
Help keep me in Your control,
In putting shame on my lust.
Let not foes jeer over me,
None who wait be put to shame;
Transgressions without cause see,
Wanton lewdness to proclaim.
Make me on knowing Your way,
O Lord, and teach me Your path;
Preventing me not to stray,
Endowed to avoid Your wrath.
Lead me and teach me the truth,
For You are my salvation;
So that I don’t be uncouth,
Build my righteous foundation.
