Let what you heard from the start,
Begin to abide in you;
For what you heard take to heart,
Jesus abides in you too.

A promise the Father made;
To us for eternal life;
I write these things as conveyed,
Deception would cause me strife.

Anointing that you received,
From Him who abides in you;
For you have truly believed,
Teaching what you know is true.

Everything is true no lie,
Abide in Him as it’s taught;
No reason for asking why,
Scriptures hold as what is sought.

So that when Christ does appear,
We will have the confidence;
Not ashamed as we revere,
Endowed with obedience.

If you know He is righteous
Within Him you have been born;
Righteousness you must practice,
While on earth you sojourn.
