This I say as I testify,
No longer walk as a heathen;
Futile minds cannot deny,
If you are going to Heaven.

You’re darkened in understanding,
Alien from the life of God;
Ignorance what He’s demanding,
A hardened heart that cannot laud.

You became callous and greedy,
To practice kinds of uncleanness;
Many types of impurity,
Given to lasciviousness.

But that is not the way of Christ,
Assuming you have heard the truth;
You were taught not to be enticed,
By earthly deeds to be uncouth.

Your former self just put away,
It’s a former manner of life;
Deceitful lusts that made you stray,
Corrupted in causing you strife.

Renew the spirit of your mind,
And put on the likeness of God;
That will make you humbled and kind,
True righteousness stops getting flawed.
