Who would be there to harm you,
For the good if you’re zealous;
Another maybe construe,
Finding themselves as jealous.

But even if you should suffer,
God blesses for righteousness;
Christ will be there to buffer,
Because of your fruitfulness.

Have no fear nor be disturbed,
In your heart honor the Lord;
If your foe might be perturbed,
Just remain in one accord.

Honor the Lord as holy,
Prepared to make a defense;
A reason of hope solely,
Keeps you from feeling intense.

Have a good conscience when smeared,
Who rail your good behavior;
Remember Christ has revered,
Who looks on you with favor.

To suffer for doing good,
If that should be in God’s will;
Than evil as other’s would,
In darkness as overkill.
