We have treasure in jars of clay,
That shows such a surprising might;
Belongs to God not as we say,
Rather of power from His light.

We are troubled on every side,
But never driven to despair;
Knowing that Christ was crucified,
We are rescued through our prayer.

We’re struck down, but not forsaken,
Persecuted, but not destroyed;
For our faith has awaken,
Defense from Christ has been deployed.

I bear the dead body of Christ,
The living Lord manifested;
My mortal flesh has been enticed,
Knowing what Jesus invested.

For we who live have been given,
Over to death for Jesus’ sake;
Giving us access to Heaven,
Immortal bodies for to make.

So, death is at work within us,
But eternal life awaits you;
Through your faith and belief as thus,
A treasure to always pursue.
