LOVE WITHIN THE WOODS

A maiden decides upon a walk
Wishes for awhile to be alone~
Walks into the edge of the woods
Ends up lost miles from her home~
Walking in natures many gifts
So beautiful every view~
Was'nt long and came to be
The way back she never knew~
Young woodcutter watches her
Wonders why and from where~
Young maiden walking in woods alone
Now with twigs caught in her hair~
Wood cutter calls then from a ways
As not to frighten so~
Maiden awaits the caller then
For maidens lost you know~
Maiden young and woodcutter meet
Friendly chat there for awhile~
Woodcutter has hut nearby
Invitation brings a smile~
Deep within the woods that day
Natures blessings plenty there~
Even for a woodcutter young
A maiden with twigs caught in her hair~
Rain it began to fall just then
Scurry to the hut now near~
Clouds they turn sunlight to dark
Candle lit window sunlight does disappear~
After broth and a glass or two of wine
A true love it came later on to be~
Rain creating music on window pane
Played it's own romantic symphony~
Fire burnt there so and brightly
Now warm and oh so snug~
Maiden and woodcutter warmed
Upon a fireside homemade rug~
Woodcutter young but tough from toil
His heart romantic as he was free~
Maiden only ever dreamt of this
Longing for true love to one day be~
Their positions in life far apart
But at this very point in time~
Love it ruled to show the way
As love does ever so divine~
Maiden searches for love no more
For true love she had found~
Maiden and woodcutter happy for ever more
As true love knows no bound~
Love within the woods was born
And lived as love has ever before~
Woodcutter and maiden found love so true
A love that lasted for evermore~
When you are in the woods next time
You might hear an axe there ringing~
And if you listen for just awhile
You just might hear a maiden singing ~
