You have dealt well with your servant,
Teach me good judgment and wisdom;
Knowledge of Your love as fervent,
Your commandments from Your Kingdom.

I was afflicted and went astray,
But now I abide to Your Word;
Because I will trust and obey,
From You all that I have heard.

For You are good and doing good,
So please teach me of Your statutes;
That I am doing as I should,
With Your guidance in my pursuits.

The insolent smear lies of me,
As I keep Your rules in my heart;
Remain tolerant as can be,
My mind recites them to impart.

Their heart is unfeeling like fat,
But I will delight in Your Law;
Your commandments are based on fact,
And I will avoid any flaw.

It’s good that I was afflicted,
So that I might learn Your statutes;
No longer sinful addicted,
I now follow Your attributes.

The Law of Your mouth is better,
Than thousands of pieces of gold;
I will follow to the letter,
Everything that I have been told.
